Types of waterproof membranes

TPU waterproof breathable film: The principle is similar to a very fine but full of small holes in a sieve. The holes are small enough to prevent water droplets from passing through, but large enough to allow water vapor molecules such as sweat to escape. Due to its elasticity, TPU is suitable for making sportswear and outdoor equipment, and is also used in fields such as construction, automobiles, and electronic products.
PE waterproof breathable film: Like a super thin plastic bag, it has many tiny holes that are invisible to the naked eye. Water droplets cannot enter, but sweat can slowly pass through these holes. It has low breathability, strong waterproof performance, and is soft and skin friendly. It is mainly used as a base film for disposable sanitary products such as diapers and sanitary napkins.
PP waterproof breathable film: similar to a perforated sunshade, it can prevent rainwater from getting wet and allow sweat to penetrate. PP film typically has a multi-layer structure that provides additional strength and durability in addition to breathability, making it suitable for industrial or filtration applications that require high breathability.
E-PTFE waterproof and breathable membrane: like a maze composed of countless tiny channels, the channels are too narrow for water droplets to squeeze through, but sweat molecules can easily pass through. It has the characteristics of dust and water resistance, breathability and pressure relief, sealed exhaust, air pressure balance, high and low temperature resistance, moisture and corrosion resistance, etc., making it an ideal material for making high-performance outdoor equipment.
