SBS Modified Asphalt Waterproof Coating is a water-based elastic asphalt coating made from asphalt, rubber SBS resin (styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer), surfactants, and other polymer materials. This coating features excellent low-temperature flexibility, strong crack resistance, superior adhesion, and good aging resistance. It can be compounded with reinforcing materials such as fiberglass cloth and applied cold, making it an ideal mid-range coating.

Storage & Transportation

1.Prevent rain exposure during transportation, avoid impact, and maintain the integrity of the packaging.
2.Store at temperatures above 5°C in a well-ventilated, cool, and dry area.
3.Shelf life: 12 months. If expired, retesting is required before use.

Construction Requirements

1.The substrate must be solid, free of oil, sand, and standing water.
2.Any cracks or defects in the substrate should be repaired before application. Reinforced treatment is required for corners, expansion joints, and other vulnerable areas.
3.Clean and smooth the substrate before applying the coating.
4.Apply the coating evenly using a rubber scraper, roller, or sprayer. The thickness should meet the design requirements, and there should be no missed spots, blistering, or delamination.
5.Drying time: Approximately 12 hours at room temperature. The interval between coats should be long enough for the surface to not feel sticky. Typically, 2-3 coats are recommended, with a coverage rate of 2-3 kg per square meter. The final thickness should be around 1.2mm to 1.5mm.

Application Process

1.Surface Preparation: Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from debris, dust, oils, or grease. Any existing cracks or holes should be repaired before applying the coating.
2.Application: Stir the product thoroughly before use. Apply the coating with a brush, roller, or spray gun, ensuring an even application. For best results, apply a second coat after the first has dried (usually 2-4 hours), especially in areas subject to heavy water exposure.
3.Curing: Allow the coating to cure for 24-48 hours depending on ambient temperature and humidity. Full waterproofing protection is achieved once the coating is completely dry and cured.
